Most of the uncertainty that revolves around shadow work is … the word ‘shadow’.
'Step into the shadows? Embrace them? No, thank you! I'm gonna stay over here with my practice of love and light, where it's safe.'
The irony of this common response is that it reflects back the very need for shadow work to be done. Shadow work is light work. It is heart opening, shame-eradicating work. It is a process of being brave enough to drop down into the cave (of all your untapped, unconscious, magical and complex self), and learn to love what you find there.
A person who has sat with their deepest fears, most painful experiences, their ‘worst’ or most ‘shameful’ qualities, their repressed gifts … comes to find that there is not and never was anything ‘wrong' about them. They can lay all of who and what they are on the table, and through this awareness and radical acceptance of their truth, they get to decide.
They get to decide what aspects of self they want to continue acting on or no longer acting on, what aspects of self they want to heal, and what aspects of self they want to use as a compass for being a more conscious, loving, open, shameless being.
When you have full awareness of and love for who you are, there is not a thing outside of you–no matter how triggering–that can dictate or control how you feel and show up in the world. You become free.
This is the work that pulled me out of my darkest places and my deepest pains–by fully embracing our shadows, we become more embracing of all the ‘good’ and ‘light’ experiences in life. We can't seek one while resisting the other. I've come to realize that it's not the discomfort that makes life difficult, it's the resistance to the discomfort that keeps us stuck in a place of victimhood that causes life to be so difficult to navigate. And after seeing the way this work has shifted my life, I want to share the work with you.
If you're open to learning about shadow work, what it is on a psychological and energetic level, and how to incorporate it into your life so you can better understand your being and come to a deeper place of self acceptance, I'd love for you to join me in this class.
